Holes number one through four pose a formidable start to your round at Las Sendas Golf Club. Thankfully, hole five represents an excellent opportunity to improve your score. This medium-length par three plays between 197 yards (silver tees) and 128 yards (copper tees) and offers views that are simply stunning. Although hole five is a fifteen handicap for both men and women, you’ll still need a smart strategy to gain a stroke—or save par.

Tee Shot: Just Land It on the Green!

When selecting your club, it’s important to remember that hole five plays a little long due to the increasing elevation near the mountain. (It’s the same mountain that you hit toward on hole four.)

There’s not much room for error around the green. Going left could land your ball in a deep bunker or out of bounds. The backside of the green closely borders the mountain desert area, which could leave you scrambling with a tricky shot or lost ball. Missing short and right could cause you to roll backwards off the green complex and into a cluster of boulders.

Simply put, hitting a straight tee shot at the proper distance is key for scoring a birdie (or par) on hole five. Choose your club wisely and focus on landing it on the green!

Two-Tiered Green

Finding hole five’s green in regulation is no guarantee of success. One complicating factor is the green’s two-tiered elevation that can make for rather long putts. Also, keep in mind that Las Sendas’ maintenance team moves the pin location daily. The experienced golfer will carefully consider the green’s undulation and pin location when planning his or her tee shot.
